On 20 October 2026, Candy AI’s plan page at candy.ai/subscriptions listed $13.99 a month in the US view, with $9.99 for the first month, plus $26.97 a quarter and $47.88 a year. At those prices Candy AI is worth it for unlimited text chat, and weak value for media, because every image, call and clip draws on 100 tokens a month. The free plan will not tell you much: Candy’s help centre allows 5 messages in total, one custom character and one image.
I checked that plan page logged out on 20 October 2026, once from a US-priced connection and once from India. The same day I read Candy’s terms of service (revision 22 September 2026), its privacy notice (revision 19 October 2026) and its help centre. I also watched six walkthrough videos published in 2026. Nobody on our side has bought or used Candy AI, so this review contains no hands-on test. How we test apps sets out what a scored review will need.
Candy AI is for adults only. Its privacy notice says the service is “intended for use only by adults who are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority”.
What Candy.ai reviews on YouTube claim about the free tier, and what Candy’s help centre says
Candy’s help article on the free plan, updated 13 October 2026, lists the whole allowance: “Send up to 5 messages in chat (across all characters) Create one custom AI character Generate one image”. That is 5 messages for the life of a free account, shared across every character.
Three of the six videos give a much bigger number:
- HelpKlick (5 June 2026) says free users get “around 20 to 25 text-only messages” before a daily limit.
- Learn With Trevor (7 August 2026) says the free tier “runs out after roughly 50 messages” and gives no source.
- Reviewr (21 April 2026) says free accounts get unlimited text chat.
Every creator figure is higher than Candy’s own. The plan page states no free limit at all, so the help centre is the only first-party number. Expect the free plan to show you a handful of replies before the paywall.

Which of the six videos show the real app
Only Best AI Reviews (11 August 2026, presenter “Michael”) screen-records a logged-in paid account. His header shows a balance of 100 tokens. Learn With Trevor and HelpKlick tour candy.ai logged out, with the “Create Free Account” button in the header throughout. AI Girlfriend Decoded (18 August 2026), Comfy cat (5 October 2026) and Reviewr show no app footage at all. Reviewr’s slides carry a NotebookLM watermark, and nothing on screen backs its “30 days” test claim. Comfy cat’s title is “I tried Candy AI so you don’t have to”, yet its narrator calls it “a research-based review of public pages” and “not a paid account test”.
Five of the six carry an affiliate link, a promo link or a pitch for “the link in the description”:
- AI Girlfriend Decoded links topaichat.com/candy-special with “up to 70% off” in the description. The narration says “up to 50% off”.
- Comfy cat uses a reco.yt/candyai link. The same reco.yt link appears on a video from the Review 3.0 channel. That points to one operator behind both channels, which I could not confirm.
- Reviewr uses a tracked affiliate link. Its on-screen price table ($19.99 a month, $12.99 a month yearly, $5.99 a week) matches nothing on Candy’s plan page.
- Best AI Reviews sends viewers to “the link in the description” and promotes its own review site.
- HelpKlick promises “a special offer in the description”, where the only offer link is for Temu.
Learn With Trevor’s description has no links. Treat most of these videos as marketing built from Candy’s public pages.
Candy AI prices on every plan, from weekly to yearly
Candy’s plan page shows prices without a login. On 20 October 2026 it listed three plans: 12 months, 3 months and 1 month. The weekly and two-weekly options appear only inside the payment pop-up. Every line says “Renews automatically for the same price and term”, and the page adds “Additional local taxes may apply”.
| Plan | US view: billed | US: per month | US: over 12 months | India view: billed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly (pop-up only) | $5.60 every week | about $24.27 | $291.20 | Rs 472 every week |
| Every 2 weeks (pop-up only) | $9.79 every 2 weeks | about $21.21 | $254.54 | Rs 826 every 2 weeks |
| 1 month | $9.99 first month, then $13.99 | $13.99 | $163.88 | Rs 1,180, no first-month offer |
| 3 months (35% off in US, 30% in India) | $26.97 every 3 months | $8.99 | $107.88 | Rs 2,445 (Rs 815 a month) |
| 12 months (70% off) | $47.88 upfront | $3.99 | $47.88 | Rs 3,600 (Rs 300 a month) |
Published prices on candy.ai/subscriptions, logged out, 20 October 2026. Billed amounts are Candy’s. The per-month figures for the weekly and two-weekly plans and the 12-month column are my arithmetic (×52 and ×26 a year). All plans auto-renew. Each includes 100 tokens a month, and token top-ups cost extra at prices shown only after login. Local taxes may apply.

The yearly plan is the cheapest per month, but you pay $47.88 on day one. The weekly plan, which Reviewr calls a short trial “for about six bucks”, costs about six times the yearly rate per month if it keeps renewing.
The $9.99 first month depends on time and region. It showed in the US view on 20 October and in euros in Comfy cat’s capture dated 5 October 2026. It did not show in the India view or in HelpKlick’s June 2026 footage. The India view also offers payment by UPI.
Candy’s terms let it raise prices “from time to time in our sole discretion”, with notice before an auto-renewal. You can compare the charge yourself on Candy AI’s plan page. We earn a commission if you subscribe through this link, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate disclosure
What 100 tokens a month buys on Candy AI
Candy’s help centre (updated 19 October 2026) describes the paid plan as “Unlimited chatting 100 tokens per month”. Text chat has no cap. Tokens pay for images, custom character creation, listening to voice messages, voice calls (in beta), private content packs and image-to-video. Yearly subscribers get 100 tokens each month.
Candy publishes one per-action price: “Candy Roulette costs 5 tokens per minute”. The other costs come from creators, and they may have changed since:
- Images: 4 tokens each, per Best AI Reviews, shown in his paid account on 11 August 2026.
- Voice calls: 3 tokens a minute, per AI Girlfriend Decoded.
- Video clips: 12 tokens for 5 seconds and 20 tokens for 10 seconds, per AI Girlfriend Decoded.
On those creator figures, 100 tokens cover about 25 images, about 33 minutes of calls or five 10-second clips. At Candy’s own rate, they cover 20 minutes of Roulette.
When the tokens run out, the help centre says “you’ll be prompted to buy more”, and chat stays open. The token page at candy.ai/tokens redirects logged-out visitors to sign-in, so I could not see pack prices. Best AI Reviews’ recording shows a “Buy Tokens” menu item with a “-60%” badge.
Candy also has a higher tier, Premium Plus. Its help article lists “330 FREE tokens every month”, 20 memory slots, 5 clone chats and a 10% token bonus on top-ups for quarterly and yearly plans. No Premium Plus price appeared on the logged-out plan page, and none of the six videos mention it.
Two details can drain tokens without much warning. Characters in “Realistic” mode send photos, voice notes and videos “at random times”, and the help centre does not say whether those cost tokens (a chat toggle turns them off). Live Action is Premium-only, token-gated and “only available on mobile for Premium users, on selected characters”, per a help article from March 2026.
Cancelling Candy AI and the 24-hour refund rule
You cancel in My Profile, then Settings, then the “Unsubscribe” button at the bottom. Access lasts to the end of the paid period. The help centre says “it’s not possible to pause your subscription”.
The refund window is narrow. Section 10.4.1 of the terms gives you “24 hours after your payment to request a refund”, and the request is denied “if you have used more than 20 tokens”. Only card payments qualify. Candy also accepts crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer (Volt, Pix), and those payers have no refund route under this rule. Two help articles updated in October 2026 say cancelling “does not automatically issue a refund”. EU and UK buyers get a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase only, minus a prorated amount, requested by email to support@candymail.ai.
For the click-by-click steps and the refund email, see how to cancel Candy AI.
Candy’s own documents disagree about leftover tokens:
- The terms, section 10.2: “Any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable.”
- Help article 61543100180121: “Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your tokens.”
The terms are the binding document, so I would plan on losing unused tokens when you cancel.
One more clause sits in section 9 of the terms: “If a renewal charge to your default payment method fails, you authorize us to charge your designated backup payment method”. If you added a second card, a failed renewal can land on it.
Is Candy AI legit? The company, Trustpilot and your chats
Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, registered in Malta under number C107181, in Santa Venera. The plan page says the charge appears as “EverAI” on your bank statement, and Maltese law governs disputes. You can identify the company behind the app.
Trustpilot no longer lists Candy. On 20 October 2026 the candy.ai profile read “This profile has been removed”, with the note that the business “goes against our guidelines and is no longer visible on Trustpilot”. Trustpilot does not say which guideline or when. The last archived snapshot, from 18 March 2026, showed a TrustScore of 3.7 from 250 reviews. That snapshot is seven months old. Its newest reviews included a wave of 1-star complaints, dated 18 March, that free-form image prompting and custom memory had been removed or limited. Several 5-star reviews from the days before praised the characters.
A 5-star Trustpilot review titled “This is really a cool app” (18 March 2026) appears nearly word for word as the “A***” testimonial on Candy’s plan page. The page’s “Trusted by 50 million people worldwide” banner is a company claim that I could not verify.
On privacy, the October 2026 notice allows de-identified chats to train Candy’s models, with human review. It says third-party LLM providers “may receive the content of your messages”, and it keeps account data for three years after your last activity. The full breakdown is in Is Candy AI safe?, and the AI girlfriend app privacy comparison sets Candy against seven other apps.
Is Candy AI worth it for you?
Candy AI fits a text-first user who pays by card and picks the yearly plan at $3.99 a month ($47.88 upfront). AI Girlfriend Decoded reaches a similar view: it calls Candy best for text, and it warns voice-first users that calls are in beta and metered.
Do not pay for this if:
- you mainly want images, video or calls, since 100 tokens go fast and top-up prices stay hidden until you log in
- you plan to pay by crypto or bank transfer and want a way to get your money back
- you want memory across chats, which the help centre ties to each chat
- you see the weekly plan as a cheap trial, because it renews at $5.60 every week until you cancel
If media matters more than text, read our OurDream AI review. OurDream’s homepage listed $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year on 18 October 2026, with 1,000 coins a month. Our Candy AI vs OurDream AI comparison puts both apps’ plans, refunds and data rules in one table. Our Candy AI vs Secrets AI comparison does the same for Secrets AI, which charges more per year but includes more media credit. For a wider field, see Character.AI alternatives or our eight Candy AI alternatives.
If Candy still fits, open Candy AI’s current plans and compare the amount in the payment pop-up with the table above before you enter a card. Pay by card, keep token use at 20 or fewer in the first 24 hours, and set a reminder before the renewal date.
Candy AI sits at #1 in our ranking of the best AI girlfriend app choices for 2026, ordered on published prices, free access, features and privacy terms.
What changed on 31 October 2026
We re-read every source. Candy’s prices, refund rule and plan details are unchanged, and all seven YouTube reviews cited above are still public. We corrected the terms section for the token-expiry quote to 10.2, updated the help-centre dates in our source list and added a question on token top-up refunds.
