Nectar AI’s own documents disagree on who may use it. Its FAQ says “Nectar is strictly for adults aged 18 and over”, and its docs say the same. Its privacy policy, last updated on 28 January 2026, still says the service is “not directed to anyone under the age of 13”, with an 18+ affirmation only for NSFW content. Its terms of use, revised on 15 August 2026, state no minimum age at all.
This is a research overview of Nectar’s own documents, first read on 21 October 2026, re-checked on 31 October 2026 and quoted with dates. We have not paid for Nectar and we do not recommend it, and this page carries no affiliate links. How we test explains our method.
Nectar AI’s age rules, and how they compare
The 13+ wording sits in section 3 of Nectar’s privacy policy. The 18+ wording sits in its FAQ, which adds that “Age restrictions are absolute and are not overridden by parental consent”, and in its docs: “Nectar AI is a platform for adults 18 and older.” We cannot tell whether the FAQ line is new or was missed in our first read.

We checked six other companion apps for this page, and each sets 18 as the minimum in its own terms or privacy policy: DarLink AI, Nomi, CrushOn AI, Candy AI, Kindroid and GirlfriendGPT. Nectar’s FAQ now says the same, but until its privacy policy matches, its legal documents still disagree with each other.
One service, two web addresses
nectar.ai and trynectar.ai are the same service. Both carry an identical footer naming an address at 8 The Green, Dover, Delaware, and Lick Labs Ltd at Great Portland Street in London. Nectar’s terms cover the site at “www.trynectar.ai or www.nectar.ai”. The privacy policy is headed “Nectar AI, LLC Privacy Policy”.
Search results for “Nectar AI” also show unrelated products, such as the social-media tool at nectarsocial.com.
Nectar AI billing and cancelling
Nectar shows no prices before sign-in. Its pricing page opens a login box and sends logged-out visitors back to the homepage. Its docs name two paid plans, Pro and Ultimate, and say “Ultimate adds features including long-term Memory, video generation, and voice chat.” The FAQ describes a free plan with “the character creator, AI chat, and a limited number of image generations”. Paid plans add unlimited messaging, longer memory and HD image and video. Some actions use credits, an in-app currency sold separately or bundled with plans.
The terms allow billing “daily, weekly, monthly or annually”, and every plan renews “under the exact same conditions” unless you cancel. Nectar can change the fee at the end of a billing period after giving “reasonable prior notice”.
To cancel, the FAQ gives Profile, Settings, Subscription and Credits. The terms also accept cancellation by email to support@nectar.ai or through Discord. Paid features last to the end of the period. After that, the FAQ warns, “stored chat history from premium tiers may become inaccessible.”
Refunds
Nectar’s refund rule is short:

“Except when required by law, paid Subscription fees are non-refundable.” Requests are decided case by case “at the sole discretion of Nectar AI”. Cancelling does not refund the current period.
Disputes go to binding individual arbitration with JAMS, with a class action waiver. You can opt out by emailing support@nectar.ai within 30 days of first agreeing to the terms.
What Nectar AI does with your data
Nectar’s FAQ says conversations are “not used to train external AI models”. The word “external” matters. Neither the FAQ nor the privacy policy says whether Nectar trains its own models on chats.
The privacy policy says Nectar does not “sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes” your personal information without consent. Your data may be “among the assets transferred” if the company is sold. The policy names no retention period and makes no encryption claim.
Account deletion goes through support. The FAQ says to “Contact support through Discord or email support@nectar.ai”, and that deletion “is permanent and cannot be undone.”
Trustpilot has removed Nectar’s profile. On 31 October 2026 the page still said the business “goes against our guidelines” and is no longer visible. Our privacy comparison of eight apps sets out how other companion apps handle chats and deletion.
Before you sign up
Read section 3 of Nectar’s privacy policy and section 4 of its terms first. If you already pay, cancel from Profile, Settings, Subscription and Credits, and keep the confirmation email in case you need to show the date.
Nectar is not in our ranked list. Our AI girlfriend app rankings cover nine apps whose terms set 18 as the minimum age.
What changed on 31 October 2026
Nectar’s FAQ and docs now say the service is for adults 18 and over, while its privacy policy still says 13 with 18+ only for NSFW. We rewrote the age section to show both, removed our age chart because it showed only the privacy-policy figure, and added Nectar’s named plans and a question on installing it. Billing, refunds, arbitration and the privacy policy are unchanged.
