GirlfriendGPT (often shortened to GF GPT) is an AI companion chat site at gptgirlfriend.online, run by NextDay AI, the same company group that runs SpicyChat. On 21 October 2026 its FAQ listed three plans at $15, $35 and $50 a month. Its terms say it “does not offer refunds for subscriptions that have been paid for”, and its privacy notice keeps your personal information for 6 years after you close your account.
This is a research overview. We read GirlfriendGPT’s FAQ, terms of use and privacy notice on 21 October 2026 and quote them with dates. We have not paid for it, so there is no score. How we test explains what a paid test would add. GirlfriendGPT is for adults 18 and over.
Four different things are called GirlfriendGPT
Search for GirlfriendGPT and you meet at least four separate products. They have different owners and different terms, so check which one you are signing up to.
| Name and address | Who is behind it | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| GirlfriendGPT, gptgirlfriend.online (girlfriendgpt.com redirects here) | NextDay AI, with companies in Canada, the US and Cyprus | The chat site this page covers |
| GPTGirlfriend, gptgirlfriend.org | No company named; terms under California law, last modified September 2023 | A separate companion site |
| Girlfriend GPT on Google Play | Developer listed as WhatsGood | An Android app; the listing returned not found on 31 October 2026 |
| GirlfriendGPT on GitHub | Open-source project by Enias Cailliau, started May 2023 | Code for building your own companion with ChatGPT; no hosted app |
Who runs GirlfriendGPT
The site footer says GirlfriendGPT is “Owned & operated by” three NextDay AI companies: NextDay AI Incorporated in Montreal, Quebec, NextDay AI USA Inc in Delaware, and NextDay AI EU Ltd in Limassol, Cyprus. SpicyChat’s privacy policy names the same NextDay AI companies in Montreal and Limassol, and our Character AI alternatives comparison covers SpicyChat.
The terms, last modified on 18 June 2026, are governed by the law of Quebec, with disputes going to Quebec courts. They include a class action waiver. GirlfriendGPT may also “modify or terminate” the service “with or without prior notification”.
GirlfriendGPT pricing: what it costs and whether it is free
GirlfriendGPT’s FAQ lists three plans:
| Plan | Price in the FAQ |
|---|---|
| Premium | $15 a month |
| Deluxe | $35 a month |
| Elite | $50 a month |
The plan page itself sits behind a sign-in, so the checkout price, billing terms and any yearly discount were not visible to us. Treat the FAQ prices as a guide and check the total before you pay.
GirlfriendGPT is free to try, but the free version is small. The terms say free users “can generate up to 2 or 3 characters and have a limited message count, such as 10 to 20 messages in total”. After that you cannot keep chatting unless you pay or earn credits by completing tasks the site sets.
Refunds and cancelling
The terms start from no refunds: “GIRLFRIENDGPT does not offer refunds for subscriptions that have been paid for.” They make an exception “if we have made a mistake or if there is a technical issue with the service”.

Where you go for a refund depends on how you paid. If you paid through CCBill, the terms say you “need to contact the Payment Provider directly”, and CCBill’s own rules apply. Other payments go to GirlfriendGPT support, decided case by case. If your country’s law gives you stronger refund rights, the terms say those apply.
To stop renewals, cancel on the “manage subscription page” of your account. CCBill payers can also cancel on CCBill’s site, and the terms list the steps: sign in, open the Billing tab, then Cancel Subscription. The terms name TrustPay as a payment method but give no steps for it. Cancelling stops the next charge but “does not entitle you to a refund for any charges already incurred”.
How long GirlfriendGPT keeps your data
GirlfriendGPT’s privacy notice, last modified on 13 April 2026, keeps your data well after you leave: “Usually, we will store your personal information for a period of 6 (six) years after you cease being a User of our Services, beginning at the date your account is closed.”

GoLove’s policy uses the same six-year rule, counted from the date the account closes. The other apps in our privacy comparison of eight apps set shorter windows for general personal data and chats. Nomi deletes personal information about 28 days after you delete your account. Replika deletes profile and memories within 60 days of account deletion. Candy AI keeps account data for 3 years after your last activity. Billing records are a separate matter: Replika and Candy AI each keep those for 10 years. Swipey used the same six-year clause until it rewrote its policy, which now deletes chats within 30 days of closure. See our Swipey AI overview.

The rest of the notice is thin on chats. It does not mention training AI models, and it promises “appropriate security measures” without naming encryption, although the homepage FAQ says chats and personal details are encrypted. It says GirlfriendGPT will not “sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information” without consent. One clause promises consent before sharing data “with any company outside Usway”, a name that appears nowhere else in the policy. Your data may also pass to a buyer if the company is sold.
Is GirlfriendGPT safe and legit?
The site at gptgirlfriend.online is a legitimate business. Three NextDay AI companies in Canada, the US and Cyprus own it, the same group that runs SpicyChat, and its terms fall under Quebec law. Most confusion comes from other products with the same name. Check the address before you sign up, because the .org site has a different owner and terms, and the Google Play app with the same name has been removed.
On safety, the privacy notice is the weak point:
- Personal information stays for 6 years after you close the account.
- The notice names no encryption, though the homepage FAQ claims it, and says nothing about training AI on chats, in either direction.
- Trustpilot shows 2.7 from 4 reviews on an unclaimed profile, too few to read much into.
- One consent clause names “Usway”, a company the policy never explains.
- Refunds cover only GirlfriendGPT’s own mistakes and technical faults.
We have not used GirlfriendGPT, so this covers its published rules, not the chat itself.
If GirlfriendGPT is not the right fit
GirlfriendGPT fits if you want a character chat site and are comfortable with a sign-in before you see the real price. It fits less if you want refunds beyond the company’s own mistakes, or want your data gone soon after you leave.
We earn a commission if you subscribe through the next two links. OurDream publishes $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year before sign-up. Candy AI shows its plans before sign-up too. SpicyChat shares GirlfriendGPT’s owner and publishes its prices, from $5.95 a month. Our Kindroid overview covers an app that says it encrypts chats at rest.
Before you pay GirlfriendGPT, note which payment provider handles the charge, since that decides where a refund request goes.
For AI girlfriend apps ranked for 2026 on published prices, free access and privacy terms, see our homepage list. It includes SpicyChat, which shares GirlfriendGPT’s operator.
What changed on 31 October 2026
We re-read GirlfriendGPT’s terms, privacy notice and FAQ, and they are unchanged. The Google Play app called Girlfriend GPT has been removed, so we updated the table, the warning and the question about it. We corrected a line that said the terms give cancel steps for TrustPay (they cover CCBill only), noted the homepage’s encryption claim and added the Trustpilot score.
