Candy AI is the cheaper app if you pay for a year: $47.88 upfront on its US plan page on 25 October 2026, against $109.99 for Secrets AI Premium. Secrets AI includes far more media credit for that money. Its Premium plan grants 8,000 moments a month, which its own cost table prices at 160 images, while Candy’s 100 monthly tokens cover about 25 images at the rate one YouTube reviewer recorded. Secrets also has the bigger free plan: 20 messages a day, against 5 messages in total on Candy.
I read both companies’ plan pages, terms, refund and privacy policies and help pages on 25 October 2026, from a US connection, and quote them with dates. Nobody on our side has paid for either app, so this page compares published facts and names no winner. How we test explains what a paid test would add. Both apps are for adults 18 and over.
What each plan costs over a year
Candy AI sells one main tier, Premium, on five billing terms. Secrets AI sells two tiers, Premium and Ultimate. Its wiki lists the prices, and a page about retired plans adds the 3-month and 6-month Premium prices.

Published prices on 31 October 2026, unchanged since 25 October: candy.ai/subscriptions (US view, logged out) and wiki.secrets.ai. The last two rows are my arithmetic. Local taxes may apply on Candy. Both apps renew automatically.
The 12-month plans are the cheapest way into both apps, and both bill the full year on day one. Candy’s weekly and 2-week plans appear only in the payment pop-up. Run for a year, the weekly plan costs $291.20, six times the yearly plan.
Both companies discount the first charge at times. Candy showed a $9.99 first month in the US view, renewing at $13.99. Secrets’ wiki says a sale price “applies to that first charge only, and the plan renews at the regular price shown above”. Candy’s terms also allow price rises “from time to time in our sole discretion”, with notice before the renewal.
Candy has a second tier, Premium Plus, with “330 FREE tokens every month” and 20 memory slots, per its help centre. Its plan page showed no Premium Plus price on 25 October.
What 100 tokens and 8,000 moments buy
Both apps include unlimited text chat on paid plans. Media costs credits: tokens on Candy, moments on Secrets. Secrets publishes a full price list. Candy publishes one rate, “Candy Roulette costs 5 tokens per minute”, so the other Candy figures below come from reviewers who recorded them in their accounts.
- Images. Secrets charges 50 moments per image and 100 for a 2K image. Best AI Reviews recorded 4 tokens per image on Candy on 11 August 2026.
- Voice calls. Secrets charges “50 moments/minute”. AI Girlfriend Decoded reported 3 tokens a minute on Candy.
- Video. A 5-second, 720p clip on Secrets costs from 320 to 1,200 moments, depending on the model. AI Girlfriend Decoded reported 12 tokens for 5 seconds and 20 tokens for 10 seconds on Candy.
When credits run out, both apps sell top-ups. Candy’s token page sends logged-out visitors to a sign-in screen, so its pack prices are not public. Secrets’ wiki gives one example, 4,000 moments for $11.99, and adds a 10% bonus on Premium and 15% on Ultimate. Secrets’ free plan cannot buy moments at all.
Unused monthly credits expire on both. Secrets says “Unused grant moments don’t carry into the next month”, but moments you buy as a top-up do not reset. Candy’s terms say subscription tokens cannot be carried over to a new subscription.
Free plans: 5 messages in total against 20 a day
Candy’s free plan is a preview. Its help centre, updated 13 October 2026, allows “up to 5 messages in chat (across all characters)”, one custom character and one image.
Secrets’ free plan allows 20 messages a day, with a cap of 100 for custom characters. The limit “is tied to your device”, so a second account does not reset it. Free members get no moments, which rules out images, video and paid features until you subscribe.
If you want to judge the chat before paying, Secrets’ free plan tells you more. Candy’s 5 messages show little more than the opening of one conversation.
Refunds, cancelling and leftover credits
Neither company refunds a cancellation. Both keep your access until the end of the paid period. After that, the refund rules differ:
- Candy AI. You can ask for a refund “within 24 hours of payment, but only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer”, per its help centre (updated 22 October 2026). Only card payments qualify. The terms add that tokens bought separately are refunded only within 24 hours and only if unused.
- Secrets AI. Its refund policy (updated 21 October 2026) says “No partial refunds are issued for unused days” and “All Moments purchases are final.” It corrects billing errors reported “within 30 days of the billing statement”. Crypto purchases are never refunded.
- EU and UK buyers get 14 days to withdraw from a first purchase on both apps. Secrets deducts a share for any premium features you used. Neither applies this right to renewals.
Leftover credits are where Candy’s documents disagree with each other. Its terms say “Any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable” when a subscription ends. A help article from August 2026 says cancelling “does NOT delete your tokens”. The terms are newer and binding, so spend your tokens before the period ends. Secrets says your moments stay usable for the rest of the billing period after you cancel. Your chats, memories and characters stay on the account after that, when it drops to the free plan. A crypto subscription cannot be resumed once cancelled, so you would buy a new one. Top-up moments you bought separately “don’t expire”, but the free plan cannot use moment features, so they sit idle until you subscribe again. Deleting the account is a separate step under User Settings, and the wiki says “Account deletion is permanent.”
What buyers say on Trustpilot
The two records could hardly differ more. Trustpilot removed Candy AI’s profile because the business “goes against our guidelines”. Secrets AI has a live profile with 4.5 stars from 297 reviews. Its low-star reviews from 2026 repeat two complaints:
- Failed images: “Image generation is 80% a complete failure” (19 October 2026).
- Support that does not answer: “Multiple support tickets just ignored with no communication.” (28 July 2026).
Who runs each app, and what each does with your chats
Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited in Malta, and charges show as “EverAI” on a bank statement. Its privacy notice (revision 19 October 2026) lets it “train and develop our AI models”, which may include “human review of de-identified and/or anonymized interactions”. It keeps account data “For three years after your last Account activity” and financial records for ten years.
Secrets AI is run by Secret Labs Inc. of Dover, Delaware, and charges show as “S LABS INC”. Its privacy policy (last updated 10 April 2026) also uses data to “train and improve our AI models”. It deletes chat history immediately when you delete the account and keeps transaction records for 7 years. Call audio is transcribed and then deleted, and the text is kept.
Secrets’ homepage promises conversations “protected with end-to-end encryption”. Its privacy policy describes only AES-256 encryption for stored data and TLS for data in transit. Our Secrets AI research overview covers its retention rules, terms and arbitration clause.
Encryption at rest and in transit protects data on the company’s servers and on the way there. End-to-end encryption would mean only you could read your chats, and the policy does not claim that. Choose Candy AI if, choose Secrets AI if

Choose Candy AI if you want the lowest yearly price ($47.88), you mostly want text chat, and you can decide within 24 hours whether to keep it. Pay by card and keep token use to 20 or fewer on day one if you might want a refund. Our Candy AI research review covers its prices and terms in full.
Choose Secrets AI if you plan to generate images, calls or video every month, since Premium’s 8,000 moments buy far more media at Secrets’ own prices. It also suits you if you want to try the chat properly first on 20 free messages a day. Refunds are close to none, so cancel before the renewal date. Secrets will not refund a period you have started.

We re-read every source. Secrets’ wiki now lists a cheaper Basic video model, so its 5-second clips start at 320 moments instead of 600.
