Candy AI is the cheaper app on the prices each published on 21 October 2026: $47.88 a year billed upfront against OurDream’s $119.88, and $13.99 a month after the first month against OurDream’s $19.99. OurDream is the only one of the two that publishes what each image, voice minute and second of video costs. The refund rules differ more than the prices. Candy refunds within 24 hours if you have used 20 tokens or fewer. OurDream refunds nothing once you have used more than 25% of what you bought.
This is desk research. We read each app’s plan page, terms, privacy policy and help centre on 20 and 21 October 2026 and quote them with dates. We have not bought either plan, so there is no winner or score here. How we test explains what a hands-on test would add. Both apps are for adults 18 and over.

Prices are the US view of each app’s own pages. Candy shows local prices in other countries and says “Additional local taxes may apply”.
Which is cheaper, Candy AI or OurDream?
Candy AI is cheaper on every term that both apps sell. On a yearly plan, Candy’s $47.88 works out at $3.99 a month, and OurDream’s $119.88 works out at $9.99. On a monthly plan, Candy charges $9.99 for the first month and $13.99 after that, against OurDream’s flat $19.99.
OurDream publishes no promo code that closes this gap. Its bonus coins and referral offer are listed on our OurDream promo codes page.
Candy’s shortest plans cost the most. Its plan page offers $9.79 every 2 weeks and $5.60 a week inside the payment pop-up. Converted to a month, those cost about $21.21 and $24.27, more than either app’s monthly plan. Candy says every plan “Renews automatically for the same price and term.”
Renewal terms differ too. Candy’s terms let it raise prices “from time to time in our sole discretion”, with notice before a renewal. Candy’s terms also let it charge “your designated backup payment method” if the main card fails. OurDream’s public pages do not describe auto-renewal in plain words, so read the checkout screen before you pay.
Tokens vs dreamcoins: what images, voice and video cost
OurDream publishes a price list for every action and Candy AI does not, so OurDream’s real monthly cost is easier to predict.
On OurDream, chat is free for subscribers (“Subscriber chats: 0 dreamcoins”). Media draws on the coin allowance, which the homepage calls 1,000 dreamcoins each month. The same help article also says “Dreamcoins do not refresh monthly” and that subscribers get 1,000 on their billing anniversary, so yearly subscribers should confirm how often coins arrive before relying on a monthly top-up:
- “Voice calls: 50 dreamcoins per minute”, so 1,000 coins buy 20 minutes.
- Standard images cost 10 coins per 2 images, so 1,000 coins buy 200 images.
- Video costs “100 dreamcoins per 5 seconds”, so 1,000 coins buy 50 seconds. One 60-second video costs 1,200 coins, more than a month’s allowance.
Candy AI gives paid users “Unlimited chatting” and “100 tokens per month” for images, voice messages, calls and video. Candy’s help centre names one price: Candy Roulette “costs 5 tokens per minute”. The cost of an image, a call minute or a video clip shows only inside the app, and token packs sit behind a login. A heavy media user cannot work out Candy’s real monthly cost from public pages.
Both apps sell extra tokens or coins at prices they do not publish logged out. OurDream sells extra coins only to active subscribers.
Refunds and cancelling: what you keep and what you lose
Candy AI refunds a payment “within 24 hours of payment, but only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer”, and “Only card payments are eligible for refunds.” Its terms add a 14-day withdrawal right for EU and UK buyers on the first purchase, minus a prorated amount.
OurDream’s help centre says: “We cannot issue refunds for product that has used more than 25%”. The same article says monthly plans cannot be refunded once the coins are used up, while annual plans “may be eligible for full or partial refund”. Its refund policy offers a quality guarantee if you get in touch “within 14 days from the date of purchase”, decided case by case, and says crypto payments are “final and non-refundable”.
Cancelling costs you something on both apps:
- OurDream blurs your media. After you unsubscribe, the images and videos you generated are blurred until you subscribe again. A refund also blurs them, and “Any unused dreamcoins will be removed”. Download anything you want to keep first.
- OurDream contradicts itself on coins. One help article says “Coins do not expire!” Another says unused coins are “not restored” if you reactivate.
- Candy AI contradicts itself on tokens. Its terms say “Any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable.” A help article updated in August 2026 says “Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your tokens.” The terms are the binding document, so plan on losing them.
What each company does with your chats
Both apps can train AI on what you write. Candy AI’s privacy notice, revised on 19 October 2026, says it uses data to “train and develop our AI models” and that “third-party LLM providers” may receive the content of your messages. OurDream’s privacy policy, last modified on 26 August 2026, lists use “to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models”, and its safety centre says third-party AI providers process the messages you send.
Retention differs. Candy keeps account data “For three years after your last Account activity”, which can shorten to one year. OurDream sets no fixed retention period. OurDream’s safety centre promises “We do not sell your chats.” Our privacy comparison of eight apps puts both next to the rest of the market.
Who runs each app
Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited in Malta, under Maltese law, and the charge on your card reads “EverAI”. OurDream’s terms name Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware company, and its refund policy also names Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd. The terms carry an arbitration agreement with a “CLASS ACTION WAIVER”. You can opt out of the whole arbitration agreement by post or email within 30 calendar days of first accepting the terms.
Trustpilot has removed both companies’ profiles. On 20 October 2026, each page said the business “goes against our guidelines” and is no longer visible. Trustpilot gives no reason, so neither app has a live public rating you can check.
