DarLink AI (darlink.ai, often typed as “Darklink AI”) is an AI companion app run by FameLink SA, a company registered in the canton of Jura, Switzerland. On 21 October 2026 its plan page listed three plans, from $9.99 a month billed yearly to $49.99 a month billed monthly. Its refund policy says cancellation “takes effect once our customer support team receives your written cancellation notice”, and no fees or tokens are refunded when you cancel.
This page is research from DarLink’s own plan page, refund policy, terms and privacy policy, read on 21 October 2026 and quoted with dates. We have not paid for DarLink, so there is no score. How we test sets out what a paid test would add. DarLink is for adults 18 and over.
How cancelling DarLink works
DarLink’s two documents describe cancelling differently, so plan for the stricter one.
The refund policy, last updated in August 2025, says “Cancellation takes effect once our customer support team receives your written cancellation notice.” It asks you to email support@darlink.ai and says the team responds “within approximately 72 hours (three business days)”. Your plan then runs to the end of the paid month or year and stops renewing.
The terms of service, from the same month, are looser. They say you “can cancel through your account settings on the Website or by contacting our support”. Both documents agree that plans “auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle”. If you paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the terms say you must cancel there, and deleting the app or your account does not stop the store subscription.
To cover both documents, cancel in your account settings, email support@darlink.ai the same day, and keep the reply. Do it at least three business days before your renewal date.
DarLink prices on every billing term
DarLink sells three plans, each on a monthly, quarterly or yearly term. Prices below are the per-month figures the plan page showed on 21 October 2026, in US dollars. The US view showed the same prices on 31 October 2026, and the page showed them again on 3 November 2026. Check the price at checkout before you pay.
| Plan | Monthly | Quarterly | Yearly | Coins a month | Messages a month | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $12.99 | $10.99 | $9.99 | 100 | 6,000 | Basic |
| Advanced | $27.99 | $21.99 | $18.99 | 300 | 9,000 | Enhanced |
| Ultimate | $49.99 | $39.99 | $32.99 | 500 | Unlimited | Living |
On every plan, the page lists “Image generation (2 tokens)” and “Video generation (20 tokens)”. A yearly plan is “billed yearly”, so one payment covers 12 months: Essential works out at $119.88, Advanced at $227.88 and Ultimate at $395.88 (our arithmetic; the page shows only the monthly figure).

Is DarLink AI free?
The plan page lists no free plan, only the three paid plans above. DarLink’s own documents do mention one: its terms refer to a “free/basic service tier” you can downgrade to, and its refund policy to downgrading “to a free plan”. They do not say what that tier includes. The cheapest is Essential at $9.99 a month, billed yearly, which is $119.88 in one payment. Paying month to month starts at $12.99. The page header says “Cancel anytime”, but the refund policy still asks for written notice.
The countdown and the “SAVE 44%” badge
The plan page opens with an “OFFER ENDS IN” timer. On 21 October 2026 it read 10 hours, 45 minutes and 12 seconds. We reloaded the page and it read 10 hours, 45 minutes and 59 seconds. After clearing the browser’s stored data and reloading again, it read 10:45:58. The offer did not end. The timer restarted on each visit.
The Yearly tab carries a “SAVE 44%” badge, and the Quarterly tab a “SAVE 15%” badge. On the listed prices, yearly saves 23% on Essential, 32% on Advanced and 34% on Ultimate against paying monthly (our arithmetic). None of the three plans reaches 44%.
DarLink’s NSFW video feature: token cost, limits and rules
DarLink makes videos on its Generator page, which says it lets you “Create custom images and videos of your AI character”. On 3 November 2026 the page offered two generation types, Image and Video. You set up a generation by picking options from menus or by writing a text prompt, in portrait, landscape or square format. A “Pro” mode was marked “Coming soon”. The page also shows a “Free trial” button, but it does not say what the trial includes or whether it covers video.
What one video costs
Every plan card lists “Video generation (20 tokens)” next to “Image generation (2 tokens)”, so one video costs as much as ten images. Tokens come from your plan’s monthly allowance or from packs on DarLink’s tokens page, which says tokens are used “for generating images, videos, and interacting with AI characters”. These were the pack prices on 3 November 2026:
| Pack | Price | Badge | Per token | Per video (20 tokens) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 tokens | $9.99 | none | $0.100 | $2.00 |
| 350 tokens | $34.99 | Save 20% | $0.100 | $2.00 |
| 550 tokens | $49.99 | Save 30% | $0.091 | $1.82 |
| 1,150 tokens | $99.99 | Save 30% | $0.087 | $1.74 |
| 3,750 tokens | $299.99 | Save 50% | $0.080 | $1.60 |
| 7,500 tokens | $599.99 | Save 50% | $0.080 | $1.60 |
The per-token and per-video columns are our arithmetic. The badges overstate the saving. The 350-token pack says “Save 20%”, yet it costs the same per token as the 100-token pack. The two “Save 50%” packs come out 20% cheaper per token than the smallest pack. Each badge compares the pack with a crossed-out price, not with the 100-token pack.
The plan cards call the monthly allowance “free coins” (100, 300 or 500), while the generator prices are in tokens. If one coin equals one token, which DarLink does not state, Essential covers 5 videos a month, Advanced 15 and Ultimate 25.

What DarLink does not publish
On 3 November 2026 none of DarLink’s public pages (plan page, tokens page, generator page, terms) gave a video’s length, resolution or frame rate. None set a daily or monthly video cap, and none said whether a failed video returns its tokens. The refund policy we read on 21 October refunds no tokens, used or unused, when you cancel.
Content rules and the age requirement
The plan page FAQ answers “Is NSFW allowed?” with “Yes, on all plans”, limited to “legal, consensual content only, with no minors or forbidden themes”. It says non-compliant requests “are automatically blocked”. The terms of service, last updated August 2025, read differently. Section 5.1 bans content that “Is pornographic, sexually explicit, or highly obscene”, then says DarLink “may allow some adult-oriented conversation between consenting adults”. The terms never mention video. The sales pages and the contract do not match, and the contract is the document DarLink can enforce against you.
Section 2.1 says “You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service”. If DarLink suspects a user is under 18, it may “suspend or block your account pending age verification”. None of the pages we read describe an ID check at sign-up. DarLink also publishes an 18 U.S.C. §2257A record-keeping statement that names FameLink SA as custodian of records.
One more clause covers what you give the generator. Section 5.4 says images you upload for a character grant DarLink a “non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license”, including for marketing. Upload nothing, of you or of anyone else, that you would not want held on those terms.

Refunds, and what a chargeback can expose
DarLink’s terms say “all purchases and subscription fees are final and non-refundable.” They allow that DarLink “may consider a refund or credit if a request is made within 24 hours of purchase” with only minimal use, at its “sole discretion”. The refund policy does not mention that 24-hour case. It lists refunds only for fraudulent charges, DarLink ending your plan without cause, and billing errors on its side. Accidental purchases and changes of mind are excluded, and asking DarLink to delete your account forfeits any refund.
The refund policy also warns about chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your bank, DarLink “reserve[s] the right to disclose all relevant account and communication records” to the bank or payment processor. The next sentence adds: “This may include private messages or content you have sent/received through DarLink”.

If a charge looks wrong, write to support first and keep the thread. A dispute that reaches your bank may put your chats in front of it.
What DarLink does with your chats
DarLink’s privacy policy says “We may analyze chats and feedback” and that it “might train our AI on anonymized conversation data to improve response quality.” The website and parts of the app use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel cookies “for analytics and advertising purposes”.
DarLink says it does “not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.” Its security list includes “encryption of data in transit” and does not mention encryption at rest. It sets no fixed retention periods. You can delete your account in settings or through support, though “backup archives” may remain for a time. Our comparison of eight apps’ privacy policies shows where these clauses sit against other companion apps.
Who runs DarLink and how disputes work
The terms name “FameLink SA” with Swiss registration CHE-443.347.069, at Les Mengartes 37 in Montsevelier, Jura. Disputes run on two tracks. Users outside the US fall under Swiss law with arbitration in Geneva under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce. US users fall under New York law with arbitration by the American Arbitration Association in New York. Both come with a class action waiver, and you can opt out by email “within 30 days of your first use”. DarLink caps its liability at what you paid in the previous 12 months.
On Trustpilot, darlink.ai had a TrustScore of 2.4 from 12 reviews on 21 October 2026, with 58% of them one-star. The profile was claimed in December 2024, and Trustpilot notes the company “Hasn’t replied to negative reviews”. Twelve reviews is a small sample, but the recent complaints are specific:
- “they asked my card number and then disappeared for already two weeks” (11 October 2026)
- “they automatically renew it at a much increased rate” (7 July 2026)
- “there is no way to cancel your subscription” (16 April 2026)
Is DarLink AI safe and legit?
DarLink is a real, registered business. FameLink SA has a Swiss registration number, a street address and published terms. The resetting countdown and the “SAVE 44%” badge are sales pressure. They are not evidence of fraud.
Safety is a different question, and DarLink’s own documents set the limits:
- It may analyse your chats and train its AI on anonymised conversations.
- Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel cookies run for advertising.
- Its privacy policy names encryption in transit only, with no at-rest claim and no fixed retention period. The plan page FAQ goes further and says “All your data is encrypted… your chats stay private between you and your AI Companion”, which does not fit a policy that lets DarLink analyse chats, train on anonymised conversations and disclose messages in a chargeback.
- A chargeback can send your private messages to your bank as evidence.
- Refunds are rare, and cancelling needs written notice.

If DarLink is not the right fit
DarLink suits you if you will commit to a year, want a high monthly message allowance, and are comfortable cancelling by email. It suits you less if you want an in-app refund window, a clean way to dispute a charge, or encryption at rest.
Our Character AI alternatives comparison lines up eight adult companion apps on price, free tier and chat training. We earn a commission if you subscribe through the next two links. What changed on 3 November 2026
We added a section on DarLink’s video feature: its 20-token cost, the six token packs and what they cost per video, what DarLink does not publish about video, its content and age rules, and the upload licence in its terms. The plan prices, coin allowances and the 2-token and 20-token generation costs were unchanged on all three billing tabs.
On 31 October 2026 we re-read DarLink’s plan page, terms, refund policy, privacy policy and Trustpilot page, and the prices and clauses we quote are unchanged. We added the free tier its documents mention, the quarterly “SAVE 15%” badge, the Geneva arbitration seat, the plan page’s encryption claim set against its privacy policy, three Trustpilot complaints and a question on paying by crypto without auto-renewal.
